Congjie Gao, male, born in Nov.12, 1942 in Jimo, Shandong. graduated from Shandong Oceanographic Institute in 1965 and majored in marine chemistry. now is research fellow and has worked in The Development Center of Water Treatment Technology. has become the member of Chinese Academy of Engineering since 1995. And is honorary chairman of Chinese Seawater Desalination & Water Reuse Society and membrane society of Zhejiang.

Has engaged in membrane separation research and development for more than 40 years. directly accomplished more than 10 key research programs from state, province and administration in the aspects of hollow fiber reverse osmosis membrane, charged membranes, composite membranes, alloy membranes, preferential adsorption-facilitated transport ,ultrafiltration and nanofiltration membranes, related modules and technological processes, as well as the application of various membranes, including seawater desalination, waste water treatment, water reuse, by-products recovery, cleaner production and circulated economy etc.

Won once the top grade prize of national science and technology progress and more prizes from province and administration.  Published more than 200 reports and papers; co-edited & co. translated one book each; as one of chief editors for Chinese edition of “Handbook of Membrane Separation Technology”, “Technology and Application of Membrane Separation for Liquids” and “Handbook of Seawater Desalination technology”.
